SC5
SC5 (2006-2008) is the Northwestern University Solar Car Team’s 5th generation solar vehicle. SC5 was engineered primarily to compete in the American Solar Challenge 2008, a 2400 mile race from Dallas, Texas to Calgary, Alberta, Canada. SC5 came in 13th place, out of 25 teams the registered for the rayce. This is the best finish to date for NUSolar. The rest of SC5’s life will be used for data collection and publicity events, as we begin design of our next car.
