While the company unfortunately does not give us rockets, Boeing does support us financially and supplies us with carbon fiber, an important element of the newer generations of cars.
Northrop Grumman Corporation is an American global aerospace and defense technology company formed by Northrop’s 1994 purchase of Grumman. They have graciously supplied us with a large monetary grant to help fund the continuous development of our project.

General Plastics is a large American manufacturer of rigid and flexible polyurethane foam, supplying its product for many aerospace giants. We are grateful for that they have supplied us with foam that we use for molds.
The Home Depot, Inc. is an American home improvement supplies retailing company that sells tools, construction products, and services. Thanks to Home Depot’s monetary donation, our team has funded a sizable portion of our manufacturing costs.

One of NUsolar’s most important sponsors is Northwestern’s very own Julio M. Ottino, Dean of the McCormick School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. In early January 2017, the National Association of Engineering (NAE) announced that the 2017 Bernard M. Gordon prize for innovation in Engineering and Technology education. Dean Ottino has not only financially supported the team, but has also taught the concept of Whole Brain Engineering– a concept that we use every day on the team and will continue to use even when Northwestern University becomes a distant memory.
The Northwestern Sustainability Fund (NSF) is family grant directed at projects that improve the sustainability operations or student experiences for those at Northwestern. The NSF’s generous support has allowed us to purchase many of the necessary components to ensure a fully functional vehicle.
